The Campus Community Book Project (CCBP) brings together perspectives from the university and broader community to read a common book and explore an annual theme. Together, we share dialogue, learn collectively, and build community. The Book Project supports the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s mission to lead and strengthen UC Davis’ efforts to realize our collective vision of excellence in which people from all backgrounds thrive.
About the 2023-2024 Book Project
The 2023-2024 Campus Community Book Project focuses on the topic of antidotes to hate and features Hate in the Homeland: The New Global Far Right by Cynthia Miller-Idriss. The book examines questions of where and when young people encounter extreme messages, and how tomorrow’s far-right nationalists are being recruited in surprising places, from college campuses and mixed martial arts gyms to clothing stores, online gaming chat rooms, and YouTube cooking channels.
