The Campus Community Book Project (CCBP) promotes dialogue and builds community by encouraging diverse members of the campus and surrounding communities to read the same book and attend related events. The book project—a signature initiative out of the Office of Campus and Community Relations, a unit in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion—advances the mission to improve both the campus climate and community relations, to foster diversity, and to promote equity and inclusiveness.
About the 2023-2024 Book Project
The 2023-2024 Campus Community Book Project focuses on the topic of antidotes to hate and features Hate in the Homeland: The New Global Far Right by Cynthia Miller-Idriss. The book examines questions of where and when young people encounter extreme messages, and how tomorrow’s far-right nationalists are being recruited in surprising places, from college campuses and mixed martial arts gyms to clothing stores, online gaming chat rooms, and YouTube cooking channels.
